IF:GATHERING || September 2013 - May 2014
Words cannot even begin to articulate the impact of the Lord and these coworkers have had on my life the past nine months. It is amazing to me as i look back through pictures from the very first retreat we went on to Gruene, TX to the last retreat in Seguin, TX (shown in pictures below). The Lord did a great work in all of us individually and corporately to carry out His purposes for IF:Gathering. I am humbled. I have grown in ways i didn’t even know were possible for me. I have met people i would not have dreamed to meet in a million years. Above all, i learned how to trust my God in the thick of attack and the sweetness of a breath and laugh. These are the women that were apart of this pivotal season i just walked through. I said many times in the office and i’ll say it again, we will probably never know what really happened that weekend in Austin, TX of the very first ever IF:Gathering. However i am sure that one day in heaven the Lord will gather all 7 of us close to Him and show us what happened those two days and what domino effect it caused, all because we said YES. I am floored. This will always be a season that i look back upon with deep joy.

Kristin was one of my best and closest friends in my time living in Austin, TX. We met while attending the same small group through our local church Austin Stone Community Church (incredible if you ever get the change to attend). Shortly after meeting we went to coffee and just dove in head first. We layer it all out on the table, shared testimonies, struggles, joys, sorrows. It was such a sweet way to start our friendship. I shared many fears with Kristin as i struggled through some hard times, she is a comforter, a listener, and she speaks with wisdom on her tongue. I also shared many giggling fits, joys and unexplainable memories with her as well. One of my favorites is when we found the website “hot dogs or legs” where you have to decide if each picture is a pair of hot dogs or a women’s legs. We would die laughing every time we tried to decipher. Another favorite memory is the time we stumbled upon a couple lighting a paper lantern on Congress Bridge in downtown. They gave us their extra lanterns and after a span of 30 minutes of trying to light the paper lantern a stranger walked up with a better lighter and helped us light it while people stopped to watch. By the time we finished and it lit and we released it we were all cheering and screaming! It was so funny!
Kristin is a singer/songwriter from Dallas, TX. She is by far the most precious and talented gal you would ever meet in your lifetime; and with the most humble heart to match. If you get a chance, go check out her music and support her. You will not be sorry.
Recently Kristin wrote a blog post and used on of my pictures as a feature on it! I love that God gave us a mutual love of blogging! So i would like to highlight her back- follow the link below to view her blog: http://kristinsigmund.blogspot.com
Visiting Friends || Austin, TX
One of my most favorite memories while in living in Austin this last year was two different occasions when two of my closest friends came to visit me. With both of them i got to go out and explore parts of Austin that i never had before. Ironically i hadn’t seen either of them in years, yet the moment we reunited it was like time had not even passed. That is when you know your friendship is something unique, because that ‘s not the case with everyone!
//Victoria// and i met when i moved to Wichita for a year exchange when i was a junior in college. She was only a freshman, but we just got each other. She and i would wake up at 6 am to meet at the pool on campus and swim laps together before class multiple times a week! Crazy huh?! She is FULL of adventure, zeal for life, compassion on this world, class, laughter, joy, eternal wisdom and street smarts! haha Vic came to see me while on her spring break this March. Until that point it had been two years since we had last seen each other. Like i said earlier, not one second with her was a missed beat. Her contagious laugh and sweet spirit was such a needed refreshment to my soul. I feel lucky to know this lady, i think anyone that met her would agree. If you ever meet this adventurous soul, ask her to share her Jesus story with you. It’s incredible what God has done and is doing in her! Here are some pictures from our time together. [Funny story about the last two pictures- we were overlooking the city at the 360 Bridge and a photographer pulled us aside and asked us to model for his shot! So of course we said yes! haha]
//Kendra// and i met the summer of 2010 on a mission trip with CRU in San Diego, CA. We hit it off that summer and were inseparable ever since. She has been a rock for me in some of my hardest times of college and persecution in my faith. Kendra’s heart for the world, unshakable faith, and the way she laughs are probably my favorite things about her. Before she came to see me in Austin, it had been 3 years since we had been together! 3 years people! TOO LONG! But similar to Victoria, as soon as Kendra and i reunited, it was also as though we had not missed a beat. And as to be expected, our time together was nothing less than a crazy adventure and laugh fest. I am such a fan of Kendra. She has a heart for high school girls and wants to make a dramatic impact on this generation through them. God is using her for some huge things and i feel so lucky to get to have her as one of my best friends and see these impacts she is making. Here are some of our fun moments including images from a VIP Chick-fil-A party that we some how got into and met the CEO of Chick-fil-A! haha Yep, these are the types of things you can expect when we are together!
That’s all for now! More stories and tales to come so stay tuned!
